Terms of service

These terms govern your use of PayYako. By using the platform, you agree to submit truthful data, use benchmarks responsibly, and respect contributor privacy.

Effective date: 22 July 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using PayYako (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

2. Description of service

PayYako is a Career Intelligence and Professional Identity platform. The Service includes anonymous salary contributions, aggregate benchmarks, AI-assisted estimates and career tools, Career Passports, employment verification, and employer or institution services.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.

3. Salary submissions

By submitting salary data, you represent that the information is truthful and reflects your genuine compensation to the best of your knowledge.

You grant PayYako a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use your anonymised submission for the purpose of calculating and publishing aggregate salary benchmarks.

Submissions that are intentionally false, misleading, or designed to manipulate benchmarks may be removed. Repeated abuse may result in rate limiting or access restrictions.

4. Acceptable use

You may use published benchmark data for personal career decisions, internal HR planning, academic research, and journalism, provided you attribute PayYako as the source.

You may not: scrape the Service in bulk without permission; attempt to re-identify individual contributors from aggregate data; use the data to discriminate against any person or group; or redistribute benchmark data as a competing commercial product.

Automated access to the Service (bots, scripts, crawlers) must respect standard rate limits and robots.txt directives.

5. Intellectual property

The PayYako name, logo, interface design, and original content are the property of PayYako and may not be used without permission.

Aggregate benchmark data may be shared and adapted for non-commercial purposes with clear attribution to PayYako. It may not be resold or redistributed as a competing commercial product.

Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your submitted data to PayYako beyond the licence granted in Section 3.

6. AI-powered features

The career finder and related features may use third-party AI services to process your text input. By using these features, you acknowledge that your input text is sent to an external AI provider for processing.

AI-generated career suggestions are informational only and do not constitute professional career advice, compensation guarantees, or employment offers.

Where sufficient moderated community data exists, PayYako presents aggregate benchmarks. Where it does not, a salary figure may be an AI-generated directional estimate and is labelled accordingly. AI estimates are not verified market data.

7. Limitation of liability

PayYako provides salary benchmarks as directional market evidence. Benchmarks are not compensation recommendations, job offers, or guarantees of any salary level.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PayYako shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or reliance on benchmark data.

PayYako does not guarantee the accuracy of exchange rates, currency conversions, or submitted data, despite moderation efforts.

8. Accounts and Career Passports

A Career Passport account lets you save professional information, achievements, credentials, verification requests, and profile-visibility choices. You remain responsible for the accuracy of information you publish.

You may export your Career Passport data or permanently delete the account through the profile page. Public visibility is optional and can be changed at any time.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of access to your email account and PayYako sign-in links.

PayYako reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Zimbabwe. Any disputes arising from the use of the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Zimbabwe.
